BOARDING YOUR PET(S) AT FARMINGTON ANIMAL HOSPITAL

Boarding your pet at a veterinary hospital ensures you of high quality, individualized pet care.  Furthermore, in the event any medical problem should arise a veterinarian is available to attend to your pet.  If your pet has any preexisting or ongoing problem that you would like the veterinarian to examine this may be the perfect time.  Just give the receptionist all relevant details.  Or, if your pet is currently under treatment we will continue with the prescribed instructions.  There is an additional charge for administering medications.

The size of accommodation is matched to your pet’s needs and comfort.  All dogs are exercised twice a day; all pets are fed as directed and, when necessary, given appropriate treatment according to you &/or the veterinarians’ instructions.  Weather permitting dogs are free to move between indoor and outdoor covered runs.  Both dog and cat wards are disinfected twice a day.

BOARDING POLICY

Please leave us with an emergency phone number.

Call our office to give us the dates of your pet’s reservation.  Please call early for holiday reservations.   We do fill up quickly.

You may bring your pet’s own food.  This can help eliminate gastro-intestinal upset often associated with sudden diet changes.  Otherwise we feed the appropriate HILL’S diet for your pet’s life stage.  Pets are fed in the morning unless you instruct us differently.

All pets must be current on required immunizations.

All pets will be checked for fleas and ticks and, if present, will be treated prior to entry to the wards.

All pets must have had a fecal exam for internal parasites within the past 6 months or be checked during the current visit.

Pet’s testing positive will be treated.

We will be happy to bathe your pet on the day of discharge.  Why not take home a clean, fluffy pet?

Pets will be admitted and discharged only during our regular office hours.

Any pet requiring unexpected veterinary attention will receive appropriate treatment at the veterinarian’s discretion and at the owner’s expense.

We prefer you do not leave your own toys, bedding, leashes or carriers.  We have all the supplies your pet needs and your belongings will not be subject to loss or damage.

Every pet boards differently.  It is our concern to make your pet as happy as possible during

your absence.  If you notice any changes in your pet after pick-up, please let us know.

Inform us also if any specific changes should be made for the next boarding visit.

Satisfaction from you and your pet is important to us.  You can help us by following these few requirements and suggestions.

THANK YOU!     And . . . have a nice time!!
